President Donald TRUMP celebrated the narrow House passage of his "Big, Beautiful Bill" in Iowa, a contentious legislation package prioritizing defense and border funding while reducing welfare expenditures. The 218-214 vote followed heated GOP negotiations.

During a Des Moines rally, Trump's declaration that he "hates" Democrats for opposing the bill ignited widespread criticism, with detractors labeling the comments divisive. The bill will be signed into law during a July 4 Independence Day ceremony.
